Airport Operation Maintenance
At PHILLY-TECH, the Airport Operations Maintenance program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become entry-level Airport Operation and Maintenance technicians. Students will learn about the different aspects of airport operations and maintenance, including aircraft systems and components, ground support equipment, airport safety and security, airport infrastructure, aircraft maintenance procedures, aircraft deicing, aircraft towing, airport snow removal, and airport emergency procedures. Students will also learn about airport management principles.
The actual number of hours may vary depending on the Airport Operation and Maintenance program and the instructor. For example, some programs may offer a longer course on aircraft systems and components or airport safety and security. Students should check with the Airport Operation and Maintenance program advisor if they are interested in getting specific information about the course hours.
Note: Some Airport Operation and Maintenance programs may also require students to complete an internship or capstone project.

AIROPT 102: Final Assessments and Certification
- Successful completion of advanced airside operations and specialization courses

- Graduation and award of the Diploma in Airport Operations and Maintenance (Airside Focus)
Students have to contact the school administration if they want to take extra credits or transfer credits to pursue the Diploma Certificate or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in their field of interest. Students will select required number courses in each of the areas listed to meet general education requirements graduation for the A.A.S. Some of these courses can be transferred directly from and to the university system and may be substituted for recommended courses on the outline. Students should speak with an advisor before doing so these selective courses are required for all students.
