At PHILLY-TECH, our programs have over 80 degrees, 100 diplomas and certificates. In addition, we offer professional development programs. We have online, hybrid and in class courses programs. Our clinics training and internship or hand on training courses programs are based on practical applications and are taught by very experienced professionals. 

The school year starts October 1st and ends on September 30th, the first trimester starts during the third week of September. Students can apply for admission 30 days before any trimester term starts. Our course programs are by trimester or blocks which is about 8 to 12 weeks, and the prerequisites are High School Diploma or equivalents, our programs are defined as:

  1. The certificate programs are about one (1) trimester or block,
  2. The diploma program is about nine (9) months to twelve and,
  3. The degree is twelve (18) to eighteen (24) months.

Students also have a choice to accomplish their graduation in the accelerated program in their own past in coordination with our advisors. The cost of the course varies by program. The selection of elective courses depends on the program students are taking and the registrations are coordinated with advisors.

The Adult Basic Education (ABE)

  This program offers personalized instruction that meets the needs of adults, senior citizens and allows them to progress at their own pace. The program includes developing proficiency in reading, writing, and math. It is designed to help individuals develop knowledge and skills needed to gain employment or increase employment opportunities.

In addition, it improves the quality of life of the individual and his or her family.  Instructional materials intended for adults to learn any program or courses that they are interested in. All sessions are provided free of charge and are offered during the day and evening. For additional information contact the Adult Education Office 

The General Education Development (GED)

Our program provides the means by which Philadelphia residents may obtain a high school equivalency diploma.  The GED is a high school equivalency diploma that is issued to persons who successfully pass the test.

The GED® exam is administered numerous times each month. Valid official photo identification  must be presented on the day of the exam. For additional information concerning the GED program, contact the Adult Education Office.

Articulation Agreement General Information (Program to Program)

PHILLY-TECH has various program to program articulation agreements with the VOLTAGE UNIVERSITY and other institutions. Our graduates earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in different programs, technical credits earned in that area will transfer if the student chooses to enroll at Voltage University, they can obtain a bachelor’s degree. Articulation agreements vary from program to program. Programs with articulation agreements have links to the agreement(s) on that respective page.

The Frequently Asked Questions include many common questions and answers regarding articulation. Students can ask questions during or after their interview for admission. Select general education credits may also transfer for credit. Details are outlined in each of the articulation agreements.

Community Continuing Education

Non-credit open enrollment programs are available each term for individuals seeking professional and personal development. Programs are available in a number of occupational areas to enable individuals to earn continuing education units (CEU’s) required to maintain licenses and certifications.

Continuing Education (non-credit) classes and seminars are subject to cancellation in the event of inadequate enrollment. Continuing Education (non-credit) classes and seminars cannot count toward degrees, diplomas, or technical certificates of credit.

Corporate Programs And Services

These are scheduled on an as needed basis to assist organizations with workforce development needs and training. Schedules are flexible to meet client requirements, this may include training consultation, organizational development, workshops, seminars and customized training.

  • Workplace Spanish and other Languages.

Customized Programs

In response to business needs, customized programs including customer service, manufacturing, maintenance assessments, and supervisory classes are offered by the Office of Economic Development.

New employee training is an important part of the hiring process because it teaches new hires about the company’s values, mission and goals, as well as how to be successful in their individual role. This period of instruction may last up to 90 days or longer, depending on the requirement skills.

We teach practical approaches to acquiring new competencies and skills needed for a working environment. In addition, we prepare participants in the job acquisition search, resume writing and interview practice.

The instruction and hands-on practice that participants complete as part of the training can help them develop the skills, competencies and knowledge they need to carry out their role at the organization.

Our tuition costs are a flat rate including books, uniforms and tools.  Laptop is required for most programs to download the programs applications; our school offers Laptop to students and the cost will add to the tuition cost. These costs estimates can change per program and each one has their cost defined and outlined in the program. In addition, there is a difference from Certificate to Diploma, and associate degree. The degree’s tuition depends on the number of credits carried. These figures do not include food, and related living expenses. Annual cost included program, tools, books, uniforms and laptop and  Online Support Fee, credits will vary depending upon the program chosen.
